Choose a New Standard: Player-Centric
Proficiency Development
At our academy, we believe every player deserves more than promises—they deserve a clear, individualized path to growth, both on and off the field. Our player-centric, proficiency model puts your child at the heart of everything we do, ensuring their development is transparent, measurable, and meaningful.
“The focus for the young player should be on mastering the core skills and deploying these in co-operation with their peers and teammates… This plan would benefit from a jointly agreed strategy between the coaching staff and the player. The player input is an absolute must, as this engagement will increase intrinsic motivation and continued ownership and responsibility of their own development.”
- We’ve designed several development tests to determine each player’s strengths, goals, and needs.
- Players and coaches collaborate to set targets and review progress, fostering true ownership and motivation.
- Our coaching philosophy is vision- and values-driven, prioritizing the long-term growth of each athlete.
Questions Every Soccer Parent Should Be Asking
True player improvement goes beyond the scoreboard. While winning can be a sign of team success, individual development is best measured through clear, objective metrics and regular feedback. Top academies and progressive clubs track a range of player-specific data—such as passing accuracy, defensive actions, decision-making, and technical skills—to provide a complete picture of growth. Regular assessments, progress reports, and individualized training plans ensure that your child’s strengths and areas for improvement are identified and addressed. This approach helps parents and players set meaningful goals and see tangible progress over time, rather than relying solely on game results.

Player Proficiency Testing: Building the Foundation for Game Impact
Our proficiency tests are designed to quickly and clearly assess a player’s ability in the core areas essential for making a real impact on the field. Each test targets a fundamental skill, providing both players and coaches with measurable benchmarks and actionable feedback to guide development.
What We Test
Cardio (Test 1: Beep Test)
- Measures overall game fitness, helping determine a player's potential work rate and endurance during matches.
Speed (Test 2: MDTD Test)
- Assesses how quickly a player can cover short distances, change direction, and move with the ball—critical for reacting to game situations and beating opponents.
Passing (Test 3: Passing Test)
- Evaluates a player’s ability to consistently pass the ball accurately over a set distance, reflecting their reliability in game play.
Ball Control (Test 4: Juggling Test)
- A timed assessment of a player’s ability to juggle the ball, indicating their comfort and skill in controlling the ball under pressure.
Why These Tests Matter
While these tests don’t cover every aspect of soccer, they form the essential building blocks of player development. The results help identify each player’s strengths and areas for growth, allowing for targeted coaching and clear progress tracking. This approach ensures that every player, regardless of their current level, has a transparent path to improvement and the support they need to reach their potential.
"These assessments are not just about scores—they’re about empowering players and coaches with real data to drive meaningful development."
